Situated in the heart of Western Oklahoma, and positioned just 90 miles west of Oklahoma City at the intersection of I-40 and Hwy 183, Clinton has earned its nickname, "Hub City of Western Oklahoma." Historic Route 66 also runs directly through downtown Clinton leaving a rich heritage that thousands of tourists travel to experience each year.

Clinton's largest attraction, the official Oklahoma Route 66 Museum, draws visitors from across the globe. At the museum, you will hear historian Michael Wallis narrate a decade by decade journey through the rise and fall of America's Main Street. The Route 66 Museum is also home to the world's largest curio cabinet. Another famous Clinton attraction is the Mohawk Indian Lodge on Route 66. Established in 1892, Mohawk still buys, sells, and trades authentic American Indian artifacts. Next door to the Mohawk Lodge is the Cheyenne Cultural Center. The Cultural Center is a one-acre complex that is a showplace for Native American crafts, dancers, and storytellers.

If sports and outdoors strike your fancy, you will enjoy the 18-hole Riverside Golf Course which winds along the banks of the Washita River. Reasonable rates and well maintained facility attract players from across the state. Clinton is home to many naturals outdoor recreation areas. Foss State Park is located only 14 miles west of Clinton and offers camping, hiking, water sports, hunting and fishing. Filled with largemouth bass, perch channel cat walleyes and crappie, sportsmen will find some of the best fishing in the country! Positioned on the northern edge of Foss is the Washita National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge spans 8,200-acres and attracts over 230 species of birds of wildlife native to Oklahoma including white-tailed deer raccoons, beaver, armadillos, and the black-tailed prairie dog.

Shoppers love Clinton for its many unique stores and boutiques. Downtown Clinton has numerous antique, clothing, and specialty gift stores for those vacationers who can't get enough shopping. With over two dozen restaurants and ten hotels, and plenty to keep you busy Clinton is the small town that is big enough to meet your travel needs.
