Friendly people, wide open spaces, quality parks, home-style food, and locally-owned shops and stores are only part of this small town's allure. Located at the intersections of Interstate 40 and State Highway 75, Henryetta maintains its hometown charm. Many outdoor recreational opportunities are nearby. Start at the Henryetta New Lake, which boasts fishing piers and boat ramps. Camping pads for both RV and tents are available at Nichols Park and the New Lake. Just 20 miles away are 600 miles of shoreline at Lake Eufaula, offering boating, skiing, swimming, fishing and camping. Dripping Springs State Park also is only a few minutes drive from the more than 280 hotel rooms in Henryetta. In town, check out the nine-hole golf course at the Henryetta Golf & Country Club. Other points of interest include the Henryetta Art Association Gallery and the Henryetta Territorial Museum, featuring early-day area artifacts housed in a 1905 one-room school. The museum includes memorabilia from hometown celebrities Troy Aikman, of Dallas Cowboys fame, and rodeo champ Jim Shoulders. The Living Legends Rodeo Arena is home to many rodeo world champions, including Shoulders, Terry Don West and Mike Johnson, and hosts several professional rodeo events each year.
