Moore, named after a Santa Fe railroad employee, began as a small town on the Oklahoma prairie. Today, we are one of the fastest growing communities in the Oklahoma City area. We pride ourselves on being a large city, population 52,000, with that small town feel. A place where neighbors care about neighbors and visitors are always welcome.

Moore has everything to offer a visitor. We have dozens of excellent restaurants. Any one of which is sure to satisfy that hungry appetite. For outdoor enthusiasts Stanley Draper Lake is only minutes away. Serene parks dot the landscape and if golf is your game we have the Moore Golf and Athletic Club. This is an 18-hole championship golf course. Stay at one of our lodging facilities and experience our wonderful hospitality.

July brings the Art in the Park: A Celebration in the Heartland. Held in Buck Thomas Park, this 2-day event features a variety of fine art, entertainment, children's activities and food. On July 4th, we end our great event with a huge fireworks show. This is a fun filled event for people of all ages.

If shopping is your bag, we have several newly developed retail centers, including the Riverwalk. Riverwalk features locally owned and national retail chains as well as several restaurants. With easy access off of I-35, Riverwalk provides the shopping enthusiasts a spectacular shopping environment. For your viewing pleasure we are now home to the Moore Warren Theatre, a 14-screen luxury theatre with balcony seating, cocktail bar and food service.

Just a few minutes away are attractions such as Bricktown, the University of Oklahoma, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

Visit Moore and experience first hand a wonderful place to bring the family. For more information, call our Community Events Coordinator, Gina Dunn (405) 793-5224 or visit our Web site at www.cityofmoore.com
