The Myriad Botanical Gardens, Oklahoma City's urban oasis, is a 17 acre paradise in the heart of the city. The showpiece of the gardens is the Crystal Bridge, a tropical conservatory featuring more than 1,000 species of plants from every continent except Antarctica. The walking paths of the conservatory lead guests on an adventure behind a waterfall and up to the tops of giant palms. Endangered palm trees, begonias and over 1,500 orchids are featured in the 224-foot long glass structure. Look for yellow and black zebra long wing butterflies and free roaming amphibians that constitute the conservatory's wildlife. Outside, meander along pathways by streams with landscaping indicative of northeast Oklahoma. Enjoy the sunken lake with Japanese koi and native Oklahoma fish. The Myriad Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to visit for a day of family fun or a solo excursion to bask in the beauty of nature.
